The Nilgiris: Foresters on patrol duty spotted a carcass of an elephant calf in the buffer zone of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve here on Tuesday.
“The calf aged around four should have been abandoned by its herd due to ill health” Forest officials said.
Post mortem was done on the carcass after a team of officials headed by Deputy Director Srikanth visited the spot.
