'Hospital Day - 2019' celebrated at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital

Tamilnadu Government has announced July 30th as Hospital day in commemoration of Dr Muthulakshmi Reddy, India's first woman doctor who was born on this day.



The hospital officials said that the event was meant to commemorate the achievements by the hospital and to honour the donors. 



Coimbatore District Collector K.Rajamani IAS, Dr Asokan, Dean of CMCH, Sumit Sharan IPS, Commissioner of Coimbatore city police, Sujith Kumar IPS, Superintendent of Coimbatore city police, CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer Sravan Kumar Jatavath IAS, Mahalingam Director of International Airport, Sadagopan Superintendent of CMCH, Dr Soundaravel Resident Doctor of CMCH and other doctors took part in the event. 



While addressing the gathering, Dean of CMCH Dr Asokan said “CMCH is providing medical care for the 110 years now, and in the last three years the hospital has made many accomplishments. Infrastructure and other facilities were upgraded. The patients from other neighbouring districts and Kerala are being given the best treatment here.” 



District Collector K.Rajamani IAS said “Hospital Day helps us in self-appraisal as timely, and quality treatment only can save lives. The poor people come to Government Hospitals for their ailments and look upon doctors who provide medical assistance to them as Gods themselves".

The collector exhorted the medical community to rise up to the occasion in providing expert treatment to the poor patients.
