Nine member team of CII Tirupur on a textile mission to Myanmar

Tirupur: A nine member team from CII Tirupur are presently at Myanmar to learn about investment opportunities, B2B sourcing and business development.

Tirupur: A nine member team from CII Tirupur are presently at Myanmar to learn about investment opportunities, B2B sourcing and business development. 

A release from CII Tirupur stated that the team would be visiting various leading garment factories in Myanmar to understand the best manufacturing practices and lookout for business opportunities.

The release added that "Today, the nine-member team will be visiting Nay Channel Textile in Myanmar, a leading manufacturer of knitted garments. Following this visit, the delegation will meet Senior officials of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry (UMFCCI); Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) and Ambassador & Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Embassy of India, Yangon."

"Further, on July 30 and 31, the delegation will meet the Director General, Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, senior officials of Myanmar India Business Chamber (MIBC) and Indian Myanmar Chamber of Commerce. Followed by a factory visit to Sioen, another garment manufacturing unit", the release noted. 

The textile mission is being led by N. Sreedhar, Chairman, CII Tirupur. The members of the crew include Balan, Vice Chairman, Dr. Vel Krishna, Nagamani Sekaran, T. Sashikumar, SRV Karthikannan, Rajesh Bhatia, K. Tamizharasan and Pon Mahil Arasu.
