At a time when water scarcity has ravaged many parts of Tamil Nadu since summer this year, a giant water pipe lies damaged in Thirumuruganpoondi near Tirupur. But water board officials have turned a blind eye to the wastage and no action has been taken thus far to prevent water from being wasted into a sewage.

Residents in the area have continued to collect water in pots and cans, and with pipes not being repaired, irate residents are demanding for action to be taken immediately by officials.
