Coimbatore: CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer Sravan Kumar Jatavath said that Coimbatore is witnessing a massive growth spurt that was unseen in the last 40 years and he was proud of it.

The Silver Jubilee celebration of CCCA (Coimbatore Contractors Welfare Association) which was held yesterday at the Residency Hotel on Avinashi Road was graced by the CCMC Commissioner, the Chairman of Nallaram Foundation and social activist Anbarasan.
Speaking at the event, Anbarasan said, "There are several reserve sites in Coimbatore. The contractors should come forward to adopt these sites and create a green park. The Corporation authorities must take steps to provide the contractors with bill payments as expeditiously as possible. Only then will the city's growth be assured. The contractors should be committed to the development of the city of Coimbatore," reiterated Anbarasan.
Sravan Kumar Jatavath said, "The underground sewage project in Coimbatore and the 24-hour drinking water supply project are all under process. Under the Smart City scheme, projects worth Rs. 1,000 crores are to be implemented. Steps will be taken to pay bills to contractors soon. Currently, the Anganwadi Centres are being upgraded with the financial assistance of CSR. Such works by the contractors are commendable," he added, "Moreover, contractors should come forward to adopt many schools and Anganwadi Centres to enhane their quality," he further opined.
"There are various welfare schemes implemented on behalf of the Association annually through which Anganwadi Centres and schools are upgraded. The Corporation should take action to ensure that all contractors get a profit of 10 per cent," said Chandra Prakash, the Secretary of CCCA. He also stated that to improve the business of contractors, the Association is encouraging members to participate in International Trade Fairs and to continually address the daily problems encountered by contractors.
President Udayakumar, Secretary Chandra Prakash, Treasurer Ammachiyappan, Vice President Rajagopal, Deputy Secretary Michael, Deputy Treasurer Selvaraj and other members of CCCA participated in the event.
