Protests have been staged over the course of the past month by the alumni of various Government schools in the city demanding that the promised free laptops for students be granted to them soon.
Today, being Grievance Day at the District Collectorate, about 50 alumni of Government schools laid siege to the Collector's office and also staged a dharna. The alumni dispersed only after a discussion with the authorities who assured them that the laptops would be delivered to them soon.
