Coimbatore: Regional level competitions for sniffer dogs attached with the Railway Protection Force is being held at the Podanur RPF Dog Training Academy.
Sniffer dogs from various states are taking part in the competitions which would be held today and tomorrow.
About 41 dogs including German shepherd, Labrador Retriever and Doberman from various Southern Railway division is participating in the event.
Competitions are held on categories like sniffing, discipline and following orders.
Dogs winning in the competitions would be sent to all India level competitions said the organizers.
“A 60 room dormitory would be constructed before the end of the year to keep and train the dogs at Podanur Training academy. Belgian Malinois breed will also be added to the group soon” RPF officials said.
