The National Education Policy Conference which was held at Tirupur on behalf of the National Education Policy Opposition Joint Forum at the K.R.C city centre on Mangalam Road, Tirupur witnessed the participation of Educators Prince Gajendra Babu, History researcher Senthalai Gowtham.



The campaigners stated that it is not acceptable to impose common examination from 3rd grade onwards and imposing Hindi and Sanskrit in the name of Trilingual program as indicated in the National Education Policy draft report. 

The conference also opposed the merger of schools occurring within 5 to 10 km periphery and deputing social activists and volunteers to take class, thereby snatching away the teacher's freedom and increased political interference.

The campaigners also decided to oppose the establishment of 200 new universities, which would lead to corporatizing the sector the conference was attended by a large number of student unions, Dravidian party representatives and educators.
