Coimbatore : An alert customer who came to withdraw cash in an ATM in Sulur found a skimmer tool and reported it to the police.

Nandakumar (38) an electrician was using a Canara Bank ATM located in Kannampalayam near Pappampatti Pirivu here on Saturday.
As his card got struck inside the machine, he attempted to pull it out with force. Along with his card, a small device attached with a camera tumbled out of the machine. As Nandakumar fell suspicious he immediately alerted the police.
The Sulur police arrived to the spot and confirmed the device as a skimmer. Investigations are on to find the culprits behind the installation of skimmer devices which are capable of capturing card details, including the PIN, through a sensor panel when a customer uses the ATM.
