The court remanded him till August 9 for his controversial post on Facebook.

Reacting to the stabbing incident in which a youth in Nagapattinam district was stabbed for posting his pictures of taking beef soup, Nirmal Kumar, Coimbatore District Secretary of Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam has registered his comments in a controversial manner.

He has challenged Arjun Sampath for injustice done to the youth with words “Come if you have guts" which led to a formal Police complaint by one Mani in Kattur police station.
He was booked under IPC section 505(2) and arrested today. The Police who produced Nirmal Kumar before the magistrate in judges’ quarters at Racecourse remanded him in custody till August 9.
