Coimbatore: A big tussle ensued between the Police and TPDK cadres, who tried to breach the Police barricade and enter the premises of State Bank of India Head Office today.
Various organizations have been staging protests against the fixing up of 28% marks as cut off to the candidates of Economically Weaker Sections in the general category which was much lesser than that fixed for SC/ST.

In the protest led by TPDK General Secretary K. Ramakrishnan went on a procession and tried to forcibly enter the State Bank of India Head office in. The protesters urged to withdraw the cut off announced a scuffle between the policemen and protesters ensued when the former detained the protesters from entering the SBI Head Office and took them into custody.
General Secretary or TPDK said “The population of upper caste is already in more in SBI and this order will help for them to get into the workforce in more numbers. This will would affect the prospects of the backward and scheduled class candidates".

"The SBI has claimed that the score was set because of the request of the economically backward upper caste people, which is not a reasonable stance”“K. Ramakrishnan argued.
Ramakrishnan further added that his Party would engage in a series of protests urging to withdraw the current cut off mark set by the Government...
The protesters raised slogans against the Central Government. The picketing incident has caused a stir in the area.
