Two arrested for smuggling Ganja in the form of pickles from Coimbatore

Investigations are on to trace the network of ganja peddlers in the city and the place where these ganja pickles were manufactured in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: In a raid conducted by Kerala Police at Walayar check post on Thursday, two men were arrested for smuggling banned tobacco substance.

According to police reports, the police stopped a car at Walayar check post. During inspection, several packets of pickles were found to be concealed in a secret place in the car. The police grew suspicious and examined the pickle packets and learnt that they contained ganja in it.

Anas (37) and Sheriff (31) were arrested and 8 kg of pickle packets containing ganja were seized. The duo belong to Thrissur and have procured this ganja pickle from Coimbatore, confirm police sources.

Investigations are on to trace the network of ganja peddlers in the city and the place where these ganja pickles were manufactured in Coimbatore.
