Irate residents stage roadblock with empty pots on Tirupur- Kangeyam road

The villagers of Rengapalayam, Vannanthurai Pudur, Puliyandanpalayam, Velli Malai and other villages wielded empty pots and protested against the Pongalur Panchayat for their inaction.



Tense movements prevailed when a woman lay prostrate under the TNSTC bus and shouted slogans demanding water supply, The protests caused traffic disturbances for more than one hour in the section.

Only after the Avinashi Palayam police reached the spot and the TWAD Board officials assured immediate action to supply drinking water that the irate protesters gave up the protest.
