Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organizes meet on National Educational Policy (Draft)

Coimbatore: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organised a seminar to discuss the National Education Policy (draft) in which the imposition of the third language such as Hindi and Sanskrit was condemned by the speakers.

Coimbatore: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organised a seminar to discuss the National Education Policy (draft) in which the imposition of the third language such as Hindi and Sanskrit was condemned by the speakers.

The Centre had instituted a committee headed by the former Chairman of ISRO Kasthurirangan to formulate the New Education Policy (draft) in 2017.

The committee released the draft on June 1 2019. They had allowed feedback on the draft before June 30.

But protests were launched across Tamil Nadu opposing the draft policy and its stipulations following objectionable clauses included in the policy.

President Umar Farooq Jamaat-e-Islami Hind presided over the meet said that the policy is against the federal spirit of India.

Former Journalist and Marxist A.Kumaresan spoke on how the Education draft is an injustice to society. He alleged that the Government is trying to force the study of Sanskrit across the nation.

He also said that the draft focuses on Hindi and Sanskrit and also encourages views of a single religion throughout the nation.

Kumaresan said it is need of the hour to protest against the new Education Policy. Former General Secretary of Tamil Nadu Primary School teachers association Natarajan, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Human development secretary Fakhreddin Ali Ahmed took part in the event.
