The City police have augmented measure for the setting up the surveillance cameras, also known as third-eye to curb traffic violations, and crimes such as murder, robbery and theft in the city.
Areas including R.S Puram, Peelamedu police limits, Saibaba temple police limits were brought under CCTV surveillance system and cameras installed in vital locations and traffic junctions.

Meanwhile, over 120 surveillance cameras are being set up in various areas of D-3 Podanur police station limits, and a renovated police outpost has also been opened.
Sumit Saran IPS, Commissioner of Police, Balaji Saravanan IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police of Law & Order, Perumal IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Asst Commissioner Cedric Manuel, Vetri Selvan, Asst Commissioner of Intelligence Dept, V.Maheshwaran, Inspector of Podanur police station who was engaged in the setting up of cameras and several other officials took part in the function.
