This noncompliance to rules have resulted in the loss of revenue to the Government and these buildings are in danger of being affected by landslides and other calamities.
Hence the district administration has been sealing such buildings in a drive being augmented in the past one year in Ooty Municipality limits.
Ooty Municipality Rural development officer Elango said “Even as the Court has dismissed all the reconsideration pleas, all the buildings that have been built in noncompliance of rules are being sealed at various locations like Commercial Street, Main bazaar and Boathouse in Ooty”.
