Coimbatore: The Indian Communist Party of Pappanaickenpudur submitted a petition to the District Collector requesting for reopening of roads opposite to the Mariamman temple on Lawley Road, which had already been in use by the public.

The cadres complained that the roads which had been closed last year for temple festivities had still not been opened out.
The party cadres also mentioned that the public from Vadavalli, Pappanaickenpudur, Pudur and Maruthamalai had been earlier using the roads to reach the main road, thus avoiding traffic. "But after the roads were closed, it has caused inconvenience to the public and is also causing traffic congestion during morning peak hours," they added. Hence, the requested the District Collector to open out the roads again for the convenience of the public.
