Shops evicted from encroached Govt.land near Coonoor Bus stand

The Nilgiris: The Revenue Department has been engaged in evicting shops constructed on encroached lands near streams in the past one month or so in Coonoor town.

The Nilgiris: The Revenue Department has been engaged in evicting shops constructed on encroached lands near streams in the past one month or so in Coonoor town.



Even as the Courts dismissed pleas of two shop owners, who have been operating their shops on encroached Revenue lands an eviction operation was carried out today and the shops demolished.

Revenue officials said that even as the Bus stand expansion work is being undertaken all the encroachments would be evicted.



"The eviction operations would continue further" officials said.
