Officials from the Nilgiris Tourism Department opine that the number of private vehicles from Karnataka into Nilgiris which are usually seen parked near the Government Botanical Garden, Rose Garden, Boat House, Lamb's Rock, Dolphin's Nose and other tourist spots in the District have drastically reduced over this past weekend.
The officials state that until the present political situation in Karnataka is stable, there is bound to be a dip in the number of tourists from Karnataka.
