Coimbatore: "Though we all know the need to harvest rain water, how many of us really do? Saving rainwater can help recharge local aquifers, recharge ground water table and wells. With depleting groundwater levels and altering climate conditions, Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) is the real solution to mitigate water scarcity. It's time we take it serious", said Minister SP Velumani through a communique appealing to the people of Tamil Nadu.

The Minister for Rural and Municipal Administration opined that the State Government under the regime of Edapadi K Palanisamy has devised several projects to save rain water. However, without people's participation and cooperation, the desired goal cannot be accomplished.
"Hence, let's vow to construct RWH structures at homes, offices and farming lands and be prepared to save every drop of rain during Northeast monsoon", appealed the Minister.
