During the Parliamentary elections, MP P.R. Natarajan had promised to fulfil the long pending request of the people of the region, especially farmers to de-silt Achankulam. Keeping up with his promise, the MP alloted Rs. 75 lakhs from his constituency development funds for desilting the lake.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of KMDK, Eswaran while addressing the media complained that earlier, MP PR Natarajan had planned to initiate the project in the presence of the District Collector and MLA but he has hastily performed the bhoomi pooja in their absence. Still he said, he was happy that the long pending dream of the public has come true.
Addressing at the event, MP P.R. Natarajan said that a team consisting of farmers and social activists will be formed to supervise the work.
KonguNadu Makkal Thesiya Katchi General Secretary Eshwaran while addressing the press complained that MP PR Natarajan had planned to initiate the project in the presence of the District Collector and MLA but he has hastily performed the bhoomi pooja in their absence. Still he said he was happy that the public wish has come true.
He also raised questions on Kudimaramathu activities by the Government scheme and demanded a clear list of places where Kudimaramathu was done. It is to be noted that inspite of party difference all the members participated in the desilting inauguration programme.
