Coimbatore : Following incessant rains in the catchment area of Siruvani for the past two days, water level in the dam has increased from 15.65 feet as of July 19 to 16.40 feet on July 20.
Though there is a long way before the dam reaches it's full reservoir level of 49.50 feet, the inching of water level at this level will help tackle water crisis to an extent, say officials.
The rainfall recorded in the 24 hours that ended 8 a.m. July 20 was 72 mm in the Reservoir and eight mm in the Siruvani foothills.
