Coimbatore : The service mindedness of two traffic police officials who rolled up their sleeves and got down to action to help resume traffic after draining the rain waters in the Lanka corner bridge has been commended by Commissioner of Police, Sumit Saran.
Coimbatore : The service mindedness of two traffic police officials who rolled up their sleeves and got down to action to help resume traffic after draining the rain waters in the Lanka corner bridge has been commended by Commissioner of Police, Sumit Saran.
Sumit Saran, who felicitated the dutiful cops have also congratulated them for rising up to the occasion in the service of the City residents.
Commendation certificates were issued to them by the Commissioner.
When the rains lashed last evening the road space beneath the Lanka corner bridge was flooded as usual. Ongoing traffic came to a dead halt due to waterlogging.
It may be recalled that the Sub inspectors ( Traffic wing)Pandi, Special Sub-inspector, B1 Police station and John Kennedy, B4 Ukkadam police station (Traffic) who was regulating traffic near the bridge rushed to the spot and help drain the rain waters in the subway due to which the traffic was immediately resumed.
The gesture of the traffic cops who did not wait for the corporation staff to arrive at the scene to pump out the water but decided to help out themselves attracted the appreciation of many residents in the city.
