Justice P. Vadamalai of District Court in Ooty directed all the accused to appear before the Court on August 1.
Among the ten accused, K.V. Sayan (37) and Manoj alias Vayalar Manoj (42) two of the accused are facing additional charges for causing enmity among two groups and causing fear or alarm among the public for statements they made in the documentary released by Journalist Mathew Samuel.
In the documentary, the duo confessed that they were informed that the Kodanad murder and heist was carried out at the behest of CM Edapadi K Palanisamy who was interested in securing certain documents from the sprawling 800-acre estate in Kotagiri.
J Jayalalithaa's Kodanad estate used to be Tamil Nadu's 'pseudo-secretariat' after she came to power. On April 24, 2017, four months what she died, one of the security guard of the estate was hacked to death and a heist was attempted. Ten accused were arrested thereafter, in connection with the incident. The case is ongoing at the District Court in Ooty.
