The Nilgiris: The swift response by the fire fighters thwarted a major fire accident in Kotagiri. 



Zakir Hussain owns a Kapok cotton godown near Mariamman street at Kotagiri Bazaar. A fire broke out this morning at his godown. The neighbours who noticed thick plumes of smoke alerted the fire service. 

After a tough two hour fight, the fire personnel controlled the fire from spreading. 



The owner claims to have stored 3000 kg of cotton at the godown. However, the reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
