Additional Secretary of Public works department and Kudimaramathu scheme Special Officer, Balaji IAS headed the meeting.
"Under Kudimaramathu scheme, 1829 projects are being executed at a budget of Rs. 499.68 crores. In the district of Coimbatore, 45 projects at a budget of Rs. 7.43 crores will be executed in association with the irrigation and water management association in the region", said the Special Officer.
"Water channels, canals, lakes and ponds, shutters, sluices will be desilted and repaired, as part of the scheme. As Pollachi is a major farming centre, the farmers are requested to use water released through the canals for agriculture. The farmers should also focus on harvesting rain water in their lands and help to increase the water table", he urged.
On July 14, the Kudimaramathu meeting was initiated in Coimbatore by Minister SP Velumani. Following this, today the officials discussed about effective ways of implementing the scheme in Pollachi.
Special Officer Balaji, District Collector K. Rajamani, representatives from various farmers association and other officials inspected Devampadi, Sethumadai, Doraiyur, Solapalayam and Nallampalli villages for implementing the scheme.

District Collector K.Rajamani, DRO Ravikumar, PWD Chief Engineer Selvakumar, Supervising Engineer Muthusamy, Executive Engineer Ananthan, Assistant Executive Engineer Jayaprakash, Assistant Director of water sources Dhavamani and the farmers Association representatives were present.
