According to a Corporation official, about 1400 houses in Muthanankulam will be served with a common notice in the week ahead, following which the residents have to vacate their houses. Individual notices will also be served to all the residents, subsequently. If residents fail to vacate their houses within 30 days, EB lines will be disconnected.
275 houses at GM Nagar, Ukkadam were demolished today as part of the encroachment removal drive undertaken by the Coimbatore Corporation, with the help of TANGEDCO and the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board.
