Manjoor's forest cover in the Nilgiris district is home to leopards, bears, bisons and other animals. These animals frequent residential areas for food and water. A few youth who were passing by the Manjoor Kaikaati road noticed a bear romping on the roads and were quick to record a video of it on their mobile phones.
The bear then was seen entering a private tea estate. Residents in the area requested the Forest Department to chase the bear back into the deep forests since the main Manjoor road is frequently used by tea garden workers and students.
