Coimbatore: Members of the Resident Welfare Association of Sowdeshwari Nagar, Ondipudur filed a petition with the District Collector K Rajamani, condemning the encroachment of neglected land by a particular community to construct a temple.

The petitioners demanded action to facilitate immediate removal of the encroachment which had become a hindrance to the public. "Already a petition has been filed on the same issue, but no action was taken yet," complained the petitioners. They also urged the District Collector take appropriate action to prevent construction of the temple on the neglected land.
