Coimbatore: The Minister for Tamil Official Language, Tamil Culture and Archaeology, K Pandiarajan while speaking at a book launch event which was held in a private hotel on Race Course Road in Coimbatore said, "The Tamil Nadu Government's stance is to change the Hindi language format of Postal Department exams.

A solution to this issue will be achieved through peace and not through demonstrations and agitations. The TN Government is not happy with the questions being in only Hindi which is wrong. We are committed to the bilingual policy, and the need for each State to have a three-language formula as stated in the National Education Policy is under scrutiny," opined Minister K Pandiarajan.
The book launch of 'Neelamalai Pookari' written by Sabita Bhojan was attended by many publishers and book readers. This book is a collection of poetry about nature and biology. Addressing the media after the launch, Minister K Pandiarajan said that the Tamil Nadu govt is in the process of reviving the Toda and Badaga languages. "We have requested UNESCO to sanction one million dollars for the same. Several rock paintings are being restored in Ooty and the TN Government will announce when the conservation work of rock paintings commences," he added.
Minister K. Pandiarajan also assured that steps would be taken to safeguard the palm-leaf manuscript, copper plate grant and rock paintings. He revealed that the Central Government has not allocated sufficient funds for the excavation process but the State Government will ask for their help. He then noted that the Archaeology and Culture Department has been allocated with funds over three times as much as any year.
