With the south west monsoon playing truant in the Nilgiris, farmers in the region were a worried lot since the much-needed spell of rains to save their crops did not seem to be in sight. It is expected that the current spell of rains might also help improve the storage situation in Nilgiris reservoirs which could regularise drinking water supply in the district.
