Coimbatore : Two city youth, Prashant (19) of Somanur and Koteeshwaran of Karumathampatti drowned in the Bhavani River while bathing in the river, along with their friends.
Coimbatore : Two city youth, Prashant (19) of Somanur and Koteeshwaran of Karumathampatti drowned in the Bhavani River while bathing in the river, along with their friends.
According to sources, a group of 15 youth from the city were bathing in the Bhavani River near Sirumugai Vachinampalayam when strong undercurrents dragged two of the youth, deep down into the river. The youth drowned since they could not quickly swim to safety. Fire service personnel who reached the spot fished out the body of Koteeshwaran and search is still on for Prashant. The Sirumugai police have registered a case and are investigating.
