P R Natarajan in his speech during the Railways petition meeting on Thursday stated that it had been eight years since the Pollachi-Coimbatore broad gauge installation. He stressed that even after multiple requests, train services between Coimbatore-Rameswaram, Coimbatore-Kollam and Coimbatore-Madurai have not been initiated even after completion of the broad gauge work.
The Coimbatore MP insisted for train services that used to operate on this route to recommence with immediate effect. He further added that the commencement of night train services between Coimbatore and Bangalore was announced by the Railway Minister during 2007 reports in the Parliament.
P R Natarajan felt that he needed to bring it to the Government's notice that nothing had been implemented thus far, with regard to night trains. Pollachi MP Shanmugasundaram also backed the Coimbatore MP with regard to the need for commencement of train services between Coimbatore and Bangalore.
