Coimbatore: The 'AGRI INTEX 2019,' India's Prime Agricultural Trade Fair is to be held at the CODISSIA trade fair complex from July 12 to 15, from 10 am to 6 pm. The event is supported by TNAU, TANUVAS, TNFU, AMMA. This was announced in a press relaese by N Krishnaraj, the Chairman of AGRI INTEX 2019 and Dr N Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor of TNAU in Coimbatore.

The countries that will participate in the event are USA, UK, Israel, China, Japan, Germany, Italy, Sweden and France. The Indian States participating in the Fair are Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, New Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Puducherry, Odisha, West Bengal and Kerala. The gross area to be occupied for the fair is 3,00,000 sq.ft with almost 1,50,000 visitors expected.
The dignitaries for the AGRI INTEX 2019 fair are S P Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration and RDI, Govt. of TN who will be the Special Guest, R Doraikkannu, Minister of Agriculture, Govt. of TN as the Chief Guest and Pollachi V Jayaraman, Deputy Speaker, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly as the Guest of Honour. Dr N Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor of TNAU will preside over the Fair while the District Collector of Coimbatore K Rajamani and CCMC Commissioner Sravan Kumar Jatavath will also be special dignitaries at the Fair.
The focus of the fair is on solar pumping, micro-irrigation, precision farming, farm merchanization, soilless agriculture, automation, value addition and animal husbandry.
Highlights of the fair:
i) Participation by implement and machinery manufacturers from across Pan India providing solutions to small and marginal farmers to offset the shortage of skilled and trained farm labour.
ii) Conference on "Uzhave Uyarvu" on 13th July 2019
iii) Conference on "Next Gen Dairying" on 14th July 2019
iv) Live Demonstration of Soilless Agriculture
v) Integrated Live Model Farm to showcase sustainable and effective practices
