Coimbatore : The District Crime Branch Police arrested R Balasubramani, a scrap dealer from Koundampalayam on charges of defrauding fellow scrap dealer to the tune of Rs.2.81 crores.
Coimbatore : The District Crime Branch Police arrested R Balasubramani, a scrap dealer from Koundampalayam on charges of defrauding fellow scrap dealer to the tune of Rs.2.81 crores.
According to police, Balasubramani had also handled the accounts of Rajamanickham, another scrap dealer and a long-time associate. But Balasubramani indulged in malpractices and defrauded his friend by doing business using his friend’s GST number. Owing to these underhanded businesses carried out by Balasubramani, Rajamanikham and his brother suffered a cumulative loss of Rs.2.81 crores, following which Rajamanickham preferred a formal police complaint with the District Crime Branch police.
Upon investigation, a police team headed by Perumal, the Deputy Commissioner of Police arrested Balasubrmani who was later remanded in custody.
