Coimbatore : The Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Sravan Kumar Jatavath headed the Grievance Day meet at the CCMC office. He received 85 petitions and took immediate action to resolve five petitions on the spot.
The Corporation Deputy Commissioner, S Prasanna Ramasamy guided the Grievance Day proceedings. Members of the public from across the city handed over 85 petitions to the CCMC Commissioner on various issues like road facilities, street lights, drinking water, sanitation and other basic necessities.
Five petitioners were given solutions at the spot with issues pertaining to tax book for a person, property tax and name change for another, address change for another person from the East zone and property tax and ward change for a person from the Central zone.
20 petitions from East zone, 13 from West Zone, 5 from North, 8 from South zone and 7 from Central zone were received. Additionally, 5 petitions for Deputy Commissioner Administration, 8 for Urban development, 5 for Coimbatore Corporation Engineering Department, 1 for Urban Development, 1 for Swachh Bharat, 1 for West Zone Urban Development Department, 1 for South Zone Urban Development Department, 2 for Central Zone Executive Engineering Department, 1 for North and one for West Zone Executive Engineering Department, 4 for Street light Organising and 1 for Encroachment Department were received, totalling to 85 petitions.
The CCMC Commissioner ordered immediate action for all the petitions, asking the Deputy Commissioners and officials to swing into action. He also encouraged the public to make use of the Grievance Day that will be held on every Wednesday and rectify issues related to drinking water, sanitation and street lights int heir areas. He also added that special camps will be held in their respective zones.
District Engineer A Lakshmanan, Assistant Commissioners T Ravi, Saravanan, Annadurai, MohanaSundari, Senthil Arasan, Selvan, Mahesh Kanagaraj, Urban Development Officer (Planning), Ravichandran, District Welfare Officer Santhosh Kumar, Revenue Officer Manikam and other Corporation officials were present at the Grievance Day meet.
