Coimbatore : Six children in the Thadagam area in the city had to be rushed to the Government Hospital for reportedly using cow dung powder as turmeric powder while playing the game 'Kootanchoru.' The children fell ill after consuming the food and were rushed to the Government Hospital for treatment.

Five girls and a boy from Thiruvalluvar Nagar in Thadagam were playing the game last night when the girls, by mistake, added cow dung powder in place of turmeric powder. Unaware of this, the children ate the food but felt it tasted bitter. They informed their parents who then rushed the six children Logeshwari (12), Anushya (8), Mukundhan (8), Jeevitha (14), Harini (13) and Yazhini (5) to the Government Hospital. The children were then examined and treated. Subsequently, the children were shifted to the integrated Child Health Center.
The Thadagam police are investigating the incident since the incident created a stir in the community at Thiruvalluvar Nagar.
