Coimbatore: Foresters of the Madukkarai Forest Range on Sunday arrested five men for hunting black naped hare on a patta land in Chinnakuyili village here.
Coimbatore: Five men were arrested by forest officials from the Madukkarai Forest Range on Sunday, for hunting black-naped hares on a patta land in Chinnakuyili village, here.
According to the forest officials, M Marudhachalam, M Ashok, M Jayaprakash, R Sivakumar and M Kalimuthu were trying to snare hares when they were spotted by the officials.
They were in possession of hares that they had entrapped earlier which the officials later released into the forest. The five men have been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and fined a sum or Rs.19,000.
