The Nilgiris: Owing to the heavy south-west monsoon rainfall in Ooty, the renowned Rose Garden lost its beauty and charm due to the withering off of the rose petals.

Many parts of Nilgiri District like Coonoor, Kotagiri and other places are experiencing heavy the south-west monsoon rains. Tourists throng the Niligiri district daily to visit not only the Botanical Garden at Ooty but also other tourist spots like the Rose Garden.

As a result of the heavy monsoon rains, the rose petals in the garden are withering off. Hence the tourist's footfall is reduced in the Rose Garden, and they prefer to visit Doddabetta, Boathouse, 6th mile and Avalanche.

Meanwhile, the employees at the Rose Garden cited that the garden will gain back its charm before the second season of Ooty that will start by September.
