Coimbatore: In another shocking incident in Pollachi, a 16-year-old girl has been raped by a gang of men.
The police have arrested five people suspected to be involved in the case.
Recently, a 16-year-old girl went missing from Jamin Uthukkuli near Pollachi. Her father had filed a complaint with the West Police Station in Pollachi.
The police investigated the case and found the girl near Ambarampalayam on Saturday. Initial investigation revealed that the girl was gang raped by her friend Amanullah from Kumaran Nagar along with his friends.
Upon orders from the City Police Commissioner, Sumit Sharan, the Pollachi police have geared up to nab all the culprits involved in the brutal act.
The police arrested Amanullah and four others and booked them in POCSO act.
The others involved in the case will be arrested soon, a source from the police confirmed.
