Coimbatore: Owing to the heavy monsoon rains forecast for the city, the Fire Brigadiers conducted a safety drill for flood rescue operations at Muthannan Kulam in Coimbatore.
The Coimbatore North Fire Brigadiers conducted a safety drill at Muthannan Kulam as a precautionary measure in the event of people having to be rescued if there was a flood and also to educate the public on what precautions they should take, considering the heavy monsoon rains.
The mock safety drill included measures to be taken to save people trapped in water, how to use rubber boats, swimming to safety and how to rescue those drowning and administer resuscitation.
Selvamohan, Officer In-charge of Coimbatore North, Kavundampalayam along with commandos, firefighters and rescue workers participated in the safety drill.
