With the elevation of Udayanidhi Stalin to the post which was held by his father M.K.Stalin for 35 long years, he might hog the limelight in the days to come.
Udayanidhi is replacing Vellakoil Swaminathan who had warmed the seat after M.K.Stalin resigned from the post.
K. Anbalagan, DMK general secretary in a press release has said that “Mr.Saminathan has been relieved from the post and Mr. Udayanidhi has been appointed as per rule 18 and 19 of the party”
It is common knowledge that perpetuation of dynastic politics has been on the rise in the DMK since the days of late leader M.Karunanidhi. Apart from M.K.Stalin, Kanimozhi and Dayanidhi Maran are in public life. Udayanidhi is the fourth member to be promoted in the DMK as of now.
However leaders including MDMK chief Vaiko has greeted Udayanidhi on the occasion saying that he would follow in the footsteps of his father Stalin and safeguard the DMK youth wing.
DMK Party Treasurer Durai Murugan has said that Udayanidhi would be a hit with the youth like his father M.K.Stalin.
Anbil Poyyamozhi, DMK legislator has said “Udyandihi’s rise is not sudden; he has taken part in various protests and done party work before being elevated to this position.
However the AIADMK has slammed the elevation of Udayanidhi as something against the Dravidian ideals of Thanthai Periyar and Anna.
