45 projects under Kudimaramathu Scheme estimated at Rs. 7.43 crores to be implemented in Coimbatore

Coimbatore : The Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered to implement 1829 projects estimated at about Rs.499.68 crores under the Kudimaramathu scheme, across Tamil Nadu to restore water bodies and benefit farmers. Under this Scheme, 45 projects estimated at about Rs. 7.43 crores has been ordered to be implemented in Coimbatore, by the State Government.

Coimbatore : The Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered to implement 1829 projects estimated at about Rs.499.68 crores under the Kudimaramathu scheme, across Tamil Nadu to restore water bodies and benefit farmers. 

Under this Scheme, 45 projects estimated at about Rs. 7.43 crores has been ordered to be implemented in Coimbatore, by the State Government. 

Under the Scheme, cleaning the canal, repairing the damaged sluice, renovating the shutters, strengthening the shores of the pond and other development work will be done. Farmers have been requested to involve themselves in the Participatory Irrigation Management by contributing 10 percent of the estimated amount either through labour assistance, money or materials, while the remaining 90 percent will be taken care of, by the Government.

The project implementation will be done under the constant supervision of the District Collector, K Rajamani. For the projects mentioned under the Kudimaramathu scheme, 50884 acres of irrigation land in Anaimalai, Pollachi, Kinathukadavu and Sulur areas of Coimbatore District are to be used. The public have been requested to take part in the implementation of the Scheme.
