Coimbatore: The car procession festival of famous 50-year old St Antony Church at MTP was celebrated grandly. Over 1,000 people participated in this grand event which has been happening every year.

In a decorated vehicle, the statue of St Antony was taken on a procession throughout the city. The procession kick started on June 23rd with a flag hoisting ceremony. In addition to this, a special mass and prayer was held in the morning and evening.
The church priest Fr. Rosario initiated the car procession after performing special prayers to the procession vehicle decorated with electric lights. The car procession started from the church and went through the Mettupalayam Main Road, Ooty Road and Sirumugai Road through the bus stand area and then reached the church.
