The Nilgiris : A major mishap was averted on Ooty Main road on Sunday, after a bus which was about to plunge into a 50-feet gorge was stopped by a tree.
A bus carrying 30 passengers was enroute to Ooty. When the bus reached near Ellanalli, the driver lost control and bus was about to plunge into a deep gorge. In a narrow escape, the bus was stopped from diving into the gorge by a 'tree' along the fringe of the cliff.
The public safely rescued all the 30 passengers from the bus.
