The Book Fair is exclusively for school students and was inaugurated by Ramadurai Murugan, the District Revenue Officer and the renowned poet Kavidasan.
A total of 25,000 books of various genres were showcased at the Fair. Apart from school books, short stories, spiritual and motivational books, books on sports and general knowledge, editions of world leaders and historical novels were showcased. Students were encouraged to buy their copy of the books that were showcased at the fair. "This Book Fair is conducted to promote reading habits among students apart from their school lessons," said organizers.
