Coimbatore: Following the petition of the Podanur police to the Principal District Court requesting permission to investigate the three suspects arrested for their alleged links with the ISIS, Justice Sakthivel had ordered the police to produce the three men at Court for trial, at 3 pm today.

Meanwhile, based on the request by the opposition for more time, the trial has been postponed for 1 pm tomorrow.

The Podanur Police had sought permission to remand the three suspects in custody for further investigation, for the next eight days. They had been booked under UAPA for planning terror attacks in the city. As per the judge's orders, the three men were brought to the Court under heavy police protection and produced at the Principal District Court in the presence of Justice Sakthivel, at 3 pm today. The judge commenced the meeting but with the opposition asking for more time, the judge adjourned the case and postponed it to 1 pm, tomorrow.

The Police and Revenue Department officials conducted a thorough investigation on June 13 in the homes of Shajahan from Anbu Nagar, Habibullah from Karumbukadai and Mohammed Hussain from Vincent road. The three suspects were then arrested and taken to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
