Tirupur: Members of the Kasthuribai Women Self-help Group along with the public petitioned the Tirupur District Collector demanding action against ruling party cadres for accusing the general provision store operating in Ward 30 of malpractices.
The general provision store has been operating for 15 years by the women's self-help group in Tirupur. A few members of the ruling party had allegedly been bad-mouthing the store and spreading rumours among the public, accusing the store of indulging in malpractices. The petitioners urged the District Collector to also conduct an investigation on the allegations made against the store by the ruling party cadres and permit the self-help group to continue operating the stores without disruption.
