Coimbatore: The Podanur police petitioned the Principal District Court seeking permission to detain and investigate the three suspects who were allegedly supporters of the ISIS.
Coimbatore: The Podanur police here petitioned the Principal District Court on Tuesday seeking police custody to investigate the three suspects who were arrested and remanded recently for alleged connection with ISIS.
Following as series of raids by NIA in the city, the Podanur police arrested Shajahan from Anbu Nagar, Habibullah from Karumbukadai and Mohammed Hussain from Vincent road here for their alleged connections with ISIS.
Subsequently, the three were booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and remanded by Chief Justice Sakthivel until June 28.
With two days remaining, the Podanur police have petitioned the Principal District Court seeking permission to take custody of the accused for eight days. The Justice has ordered to produce the three men at the Court, tomorrow.
