Coimbatore: Objecting to the decision of handing over the Treasury Department to the private sector, the members of the Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA) staged a protest in Coimbatore, during their lunch break.
The TNGEA members of Coimbatore raised slogans against the Tamil Nadu Government. Over 20 employees participated in the protest led by the District President, Senthil Kumar. "The Tamil Nadu Government is taking steps to hand over the Treasury Department to the private sector.
Thus far, the National Informatics Centre has performed well. Had they been provided with adequate facilities, they would have performed much better. Instead, handing over the Treasury Department to the private sector can result in malpractices since employee data can be misused," warned Senthil Kumar.
